Welcome to the Swaffham Museum web site
Swaffham Museum is situated in the centre of the Historic Market Town of Swaffham in a Grade II listed building that is currently owned by Swaffham Town Council. This glorious building was built around 1775 / 1790 on the site of the Great Fire of Swaffham which took place in 1775.
The museum focuses on the social history of the town and surrounding villages. The collections cover the many aspects of life including trade, industries, domestic life, from prehistoric times to the present.
The museum boasts its own education service, to help teachers and students make the very best use of the museum.
Opening hours 2007/2008
The museum is open from April – October
Tuesday – Saturday, 10am-4pm
The museum is closed on Sunday and Monday
The museum is open for schools and other groups on Monday by appointment only.
