A graduate of Cambridge University, Roo has been a professional artist for the past fifteen years. She studied under Mike Bibby and Antoinette Symington.
Roo is best known for bright, semi-abstract paintings which range from seascapes and landscapes to figurative work. She is influenced by the raw energies of the natural world, literature and music. Her work is mostly serious but sometimes quirky and humorous.
Roo’s work is characterised by a strong use of colour and draws inspiration from a profound emotional response to the subject.
Her life is heavily influenced by her practice of Tai Chi Chuan and meditation forms a part of her everyday painting ritual.
Roo lives with her family near the North Norfolk coast. |
