The Old Barn, Heacham
Home Page
Heacham
Heacham Our village was the home of Pocahontas when she stayed here with her husband who was born in Heacham. Our village sign depicts this and there is a memorial to Pocahontas and John Rolfe in the parish church St. Mary's. Heacham has 2 beaches and a promenade that accesses Hunstanton, a great walk on a fine day or to watch the sun set over The Wash. Norfolk Lavender is also situated in Heacham and it remains open all year, offering seasonal crafts, gift shop, restaurant, greenhouse and gardens, though the best time for the lavender is in July and August, when guided tours of the fields are available. In the winter we have thousands of Pink Footed Geese fly over to roost on the Wash at night and return in the morning to feed on the fields of beet tops. We are mid-way between the RSPB reserves at Snettisham and Titchwell.
