Swanton Morley
Swanton Morley, situated in the heart of Norfolk, was mentioned in the Domesday Book as having a "church with one and a half acres, worth two pence". It is now a large but rural parish, three miles north east from the market town of East Dereham, 12 miles east of Swaffham and 16 miles west from the 'fine city of Norwich'.
Our village is the ideal base from which to enjoy your stay in Norfolk, and has many great local services. These include the impressive Mediaeval church dating to around the late 1300's, the reknowned Mill Bakery, a high class butcher, delicatessen, village stores, and two fantastic country pubs within walking distance. There are many lovely walks nearby, and cycle routes which take you down quiet lanes or across country. If you wish to explore further afield, then most of the North Norfolk coast is within half an hour's drive, and the nearby A47 makes the whole of the county easily accessible.

Two lovely holiday cottages both with the same specification sleeping 2 +2 on a sofabed. The Old Chocolate Shop is annexed to the owners home and accessed from their driveway with private parking. The accommodation, on one level, is accessed via double doors no steps into an open plan area with sitting room containing leather sofa and sofabed, dining area and kitchen. Double bedroom and adjoining shower room. Bedroom has fully double glazed door opening out onto private patio. All furnishing, appliances etc. are brand new.

Changeover day Friday from 3.00pm but late arrivals fine with prior arrangement.
We are in the village of Swanton Morley which is just off the main A47 trunk road. Follow signs for the village – clearly signposted from both directions on the A47. Once in the village on the main road, keep going until you see the Angel
PH on the left hand side, apx. half a mile from first village sign. Immediately past the pub, turn left this is Hoe Road South, Angel Cottage is 100yards on your right turn into driveway The Old Chocolate Shop is at the end of the drive parking adjacent to patio and entrance.
Travelling by public transport the bus stop for connect service is opposite the Angel PH. Buses from both Dereham and Norwich connections stop here.
Whether looking for a base to explore Norfolk, Fishing, Bird watching or just a quiet retreat from which to take one of the many country walks, a stay in Angel Cottages is perfect. |
