The Close is a large Victorian family house built originally for the doctor assistant to the physician at nearby Sandringham. A stream, one of the sources of the river Wensum, flows through the mature garden. East Rudham is a short distance from the beautiful North Norfolk Coast with its vast sandy beaches, golf courses and tidal harbours. The area is famous for migrating birds and a mecca for birdwatchers. Personal guided walks with a local expert on flora and ornithology can be arranged.
There are 3 pub restaurants in the village. The nearest has recently been renovated by TV chef Chris Coubrough, Coastal Kitchens. Houghton and Holkham Hall are nearby and National Trust properties, including Blickling Hall, within easy reach. |
