Announcement: Ever Considered Running Deepdale?

Then you’ll be interested to know that we are looking for a tenant for the tourism side of Deepdale. The fully repairing and insuring lease would be for a minimum of 5 years (terms to be agreed) and you’d take on the running of all the tourism facilities including the backpackers hostel, campsite, group hostel, tipis and visitor information centre.

Deepdale is open as usual, while we look for a tenant.

This is an amazing opportunity for the right people. To register your interest please visit http: //www.deepdalefarm.co.uk/propertiestolet

Winter Programme

All of Deepdale’s facilities are open throughout the year, including Christmas. You can enjoy the north Norfolk coast while staying in a private ensuite room, in a dorm, in the group hostel, in a tipi or camping in a tent or campervan.

As always, we wanted to give you a few good excuses to escape to the north Norfolk coast over the winter (as if you need them). It’s a beautiful time of year to be here, especially because there are fewer people. You get the beaches, bird reserves and walks to yourself, plus you can sit by the fire in the local pub, enjoy some good food, a locally brewed pint of real ale and relax.

This winter you can learn about greening up your home and business, experience real ale appreciation, walk the Norfolk Coast Footpath and cycle the local area.

Other events to look forward to during the winter are Tuesday night Pub Quizzes at The Jolly Sailors, Seal Pups on Blakeney Point and of course enjoy fresh mussels from the harbour.

Some of the events we are running are listed on the right hand side and more information is available on our website: http: //www.deepdalebackpackers.co.uk/events

Book for Next Year at This Year’s Prices

We’ll review our prices for 2009 during September. If you book and pay for your 2009 stay at Deepdale before the end of September 2008, you’ll get your accommodation at 2008 prices.

Shop Units to Let
(Could you base your business at Deepdale?)

At the time of writing, there are two shop units available at Dalegate Market (300 ft2 and 600 ft2). They are suitable for A1 planning use, ie retail shops, although alternative use could be considered. We’d love to see one being used for bike hire, but you could also lease either unit as a going concern or have a completely different business. If you or someone you know is interested then we’d love to hear from you.

We’re keen on cycle hire, because we know there is a huge potential market for cycle hire with the customers already staying at Deepdale, other visitors to the area and second home owners. With Alister retiring it just isn’t the right time for us to do this in house.

If you are interested in either unit, then more information is available at http: //www.deepdalefarm.co.uk/propertiestolet

Green Awards

We’re very proud to have reached the second stage of the Responsible Tourism Awards (Sponsored by Virgin Holidays). We’ll let you know how we get on. Thank you to everyone who nominated us.

We’re into the final for the Eastern Daily Press Environment and Sustainability Award. We hear the result on 17th October.

Dalegate Market and Village News

Leftley’s Costcutter – Open 7 days a week, 7.30-6 Mon-Sat, 8-6 Sun. Our range is always increasing and we have a fully stocked off licence. Please let us know if there is something you’d like to see stocked.

(25 years in business, 25 days of sale, 25% off)

Goodbye and Hello

Escape the beaten track and the smog of the big city to this wonderfully chilled out independent backpackers hostel and campsite in the heart of Burnham Deepdale on the north Norfolk coast. This beautiful village is by the sea in an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’*.

The north Norfolk coast is a backpackers paradise, offering watersports and outdoor activities of every sort, beautiful beaches and historical buildings, so you can be as active as you want. Of course you might just like to chill out and relax in our award winning backpackers hostel or try one of our superb local pubs serving local beers and excellent seafood! The village is famous for it’s mussels.

Deepdale Backpackers Hostel

Deepdale Backpackers offers excellent ensuite private rooms - double rooms, twin rooms, triple rooms either 1 double and 1 single bed or 3 single beds, quad rooms and family rooms. The backpackers hostel also offers mixed sex dorms, female only dorms and male only dorms, which all have ensuite shower rooms.

All bedding is provided, so no need to bring a sleeping bag with you, you'll just need a towel.

The backpackers hostel is centred around a partially covered old stable courtyard and the buildings date back to 17th Century. They’ve been restored in the traditional Norfolk style, and where possible we have used green technologies to reduce the environmental impact.

Sorry no pets in the hostel, except guide dogs.

Chill in our cosy sitting room of Deepdale Backpackers Hostel, where we light the woodburner every winter evening. The perfect excuse to stay in and relax on those not so summery evenings. Not that it ever rains here at Deepdale!

Deepdale Camping

Deepdale Camping is a quiet, family friendly, north Norfolk coast campsite, with five well kept paddocks in the heart of the beautiful village of Burnham Deepdale. Offering the perfect base to discover the north Norfolk coast, an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’*, famous for it’s nature and bird reserves, walking and cycling, watersports and history.

If you are looking for a party campsite, then this isn't the campsite for you. We have a strict noise policy in the late evenings to keep the relaxed atmosphere for both our customers and the adjacent houses.

Deepdale Camping is open all year for tents no larger than 6-7 metres and small campervans – no caravans. Sorry but at the moment we don't offer electrical hookups or allow generators.

The campsite offers modern toilet, shower and washing up facilities. Like the rest of the site these are eco friendly being heated by solar panels, with a backup oil boiler.

Quiet, vaccinated dogs are welcome on the campsite, but must be kept on a short lead.

July August bookings made before 17th July must be for a minimum of 7 nights.

We recommend you book ahead for weekends and August.

We can now open North Glebe all year, which was our overflow campsite. This means at quiet times you have much more choice of camping pitches and makes no difference during high season. As part of our planning permission to extend the camping facilities, we've planted a huge number of trees and hedges around the campsite and further landscaping will be taking place.

This north Norfolk campsite is not suitable for large groups.
