The shop has barely altered since it was first built over three hundred years ago, making a visit to look for a book a fascinating and enjoyable experience as one can’t help but appreciate many of the building’s original features.
First established as a bookshop in the 1970s, the stock has now risen to over 20,000 books, covering a wide range of subjects in ten rooms on three floors. Although we do not specialise in a particular area the sections on natural history, biography, literature and art are substantial.
We buy and sell secondhand and antiquarian books and can also supply fine bindings to suit a variety of different requirements.
A small proportion of some of our most interesting books can be bought online. However, it is our belief that there is no substitute for the random find made while exploring the shelves of this extremely well-stocked secondhand bookshop, whether it is a scarce antiquarian book, a book on a specific subject, or simply a holiday read. |
